Tony has been with Maltbys since 1996 and transferred to the Queenstown office in 2004 after working in the Wellington office. Tony became a Principal in 2001, and was promoted to become a Director of the company in April 2007. Prior to joining Maltbys in 1996 Tony worked briefly in Australia and mainly in the UK for a period of 5 years working in both professional consultant offices and for construction companies.
Tony qualified as a member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNZIQS) in 2002 and holds a BSc Honours degree in Quantity Surveying from University of Northumbria at Newcastle.
Tony’s expertise covers the full range of quantity surveying services, but specializes in Client Representation, Project Management, Estimating and Cost Planning, Contractual and Procurement Advice, Risk Assessment and Management, and Funding Certification.
Tony has worked on a wide range of projects both in the UK and New Zealand, latterly and significantly in the Residential, Hotel/Tourism and Commercial sectors. A sample of recent projects for which Tony has played an important role is listed below.
Outside of work, Tony is a keen kayaker, tramper and member of search and rescue.
